Independence Day is a grand celebration! There are many reasons to celebrate independence… many grateful people in nation-state communities all around the globe celebrate their freedom from oppressive governing bullies on their anniversary dates throughout the year. In our country we celebrate the liberating efforts of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and their peers on July 4, 1776 every anniversary with fireworks! Some of us read the Declaration of Independence in ceremonial fashion! We are so fortunate to experience such freedom!
The Declaration of Independence was, and remains from time to time as, a hotly debated document that took great forethought to draft and approve; for it remains a significant document outlining the constitutional rights we hope to incorporate in our daily lives today. No doubt there are many Constitutional supporters advocating for Constitutional freedoms and many others who believe we should be limited in our Constitutionally protected freedoms.
Hopefully all of us will be able to appreciate and enjoy this federal holiday!
