Grandpa always says that you have to be a bit of a geek to spend the day hanging out with the First Lego League. Why? Well, there are robots everywhere, the youth and even adults play with Lego pieces and they are so involved! Today the action is at Omaha Boys Girls Club. Eighteen teams are in the robot pit making sure their robots are calibrated and ready to run the attachments and software they designed. There are tall and short robots; wide and thin robots; robots with big wheels, small wheels and even treads like tanks! One team even built a robot with a catapult – I think that is not allowed!
We asked the Mayor to come because he is such a good speaker! He came to the qualifier and gave us words of wisdom: Stay in School!
