Humans are social by nature. Anytime we have two or more of us get together, we have a political experience. This is often a good thing. So we are wired to make the best of it.

It is time for Academy Science Club to elect youth officers. Our club follows in the footsteps of democracy. We allow each member interested in holding a position of political capacity to speak about what he or she feels is an appropriate platform to garner the simple majority of the popular vote.

Have you ever had the opportunity to observe children competing for political office? It is an interesting process. As I observe this political process unfold I often wonder whether children emulate adults or vice versa. I say this in the kindest, most thoughtful and academic way. Political scientists and psychologists support the premise that children learn social behavior very early and become more sophisticated as they become experienced. Grandpa’s opinion is for the vice versa. Of course Grandpa, older, more experienced and learned must be correct.
