OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) Omaha Fire Department will be announcing their newest addition on Wednesday morning: An arson dog named Alley.
Alley is coming to the department thanks to a $25,000 grant from the State Farm Arson Dog Program. The grant has covered the costs of acquiring Alley, and all associated training and travel expenses.

“This dog is not designed and not trained to go after people. It’s just designed to locate an odor and sniff that odor out,” said OFD Fire Investigator Dave Sobotka.

The First Responders Foundation is currently raising funds to cover the continued costs of training, vet care, certifications, and of course food. The press conference is set to begin Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Omaha Fire Department Headquarters.
