Every good deed has a story! No challenge is too large or small.
Academy science club wants to develop a solution that will help seniors use computers comfortably and productively. Why? We visited seniors at Elk Ridge Village. We demonstrated things we do for fun and education at the science club. We are impressed with the interest that seniors have in robotics. They have ideas that are cool and work! So we asked what we might do to make their day more productive. They told us, “Help us use the computer to download, copy and paste.”
Wow, cool! We can do this! We go right to work. First we take a break and enjoy snack. Then we determine how we will divide the task among ourselves. We are robot programmers. We can perform and document sequential instruction. After parting out the job among ourselves, we scanned academic journals and computer literature for substance, form and procedure. We passed the work in progress among ourselves and sought critical review from experts in the field. Voila, soon it was more like a work completed. We presented it to the seniors and they were elated.
