The Broadcom Masters Competition is available to middle school nominees from qualified science fair presentation members. MASTERS is an acronym for Mathematics, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars. Qualified nominees enter this competition by presenting their qualified science fair nominated science project to the Broadcom Masters board of judges through an application process. A Science, Technology, Engineering and Math STEM related project gets further competitive assessment from a national level of qualified nominated science project presentations. The middle school science project presentation nominee from Academy Science is a biology, botany and microbiology related study of the presence of nitrate reductase activity in the tissue of embryonic plant cells. Of course computer science and engineering is used by the student in setting up, carrying out and analysis of the project study. Coming along this far is an honor for this young scientist. Further competitive assessment may bring this young scientist and the science project presentation more recognition. As we grow and develop into all we can be with the support of caring adults we learn that the “journey is the reward.”
