Valley Sesquicentennial

Valley is a town that is celebrating its official 150th year in existence over the weekend commencing August 15th. Valley established and grew along the Union Pacific Railroad line. When locomotives were steam engines, Valley was located at a point convenient to pull in and refill the locomotive steam boiler. Of course passengers would take a break from rail car adventure to visit amenities in the community. So grew an historical community.
Academy Science will be on the scene at the celebration for an Emergency Planning and Disaster Preparation demonstration in the morning. After this stirring presentation we will go on to demonstrate Lego Mindstorms robots and an FLL competition! After noon Academy Science will be on to a rocket build and flight sandlot competition style. Be sure to get in on this one!
Evening will bring Academy Science hosting a Nebraska Star Party. Come on down and enjoy an astronomical journey!
