Academy Science started research on its 2013 First Lego League FLL theme Natures Fury last March. As you can see in this blog, community resources on a global scale are thoroughly queried and absorbed. Disaster preparedness and emergency planning are large targets for research. The absorption of creative and intellectual resources is qualified and quantified. The result? The problem is that significant portions of the local community: the young, elderly and disabled lack the awareness and knowledge to credibly and safely survive a natural disaster. The solution is to bring education and resources to this target audience, familiarize and assist them in preparation for the next significant natural disaster that they might experience.
What does Academy Science bring to the State FLL Tournament? We bring a youth science team that qualified early in December of last year to go to State, a tremendous amount of research that weighs too much for one human to carry and a robot game that is so cool and bright that I need a shirt and shades.
