Veni, Vidi, Vici at the USD Robotic Competition; Well Almost!<\/p>\n
We prepared for the robot competition hosted by USD.edu in Vermillion, SD with minimalistic instructions. We knew there would be a maze and we would have to build and program a robot for autonomous behavior in the undefined maze. We gave this challenge a go as best we could under the circumstances.<\/p>\n
On the big day, we woke before dawn to make the long trip to Vermillion. A plus is that we will be a relatively short drive to Yankton where we may find Gavin’s Dam which we plan to tour later this summer.<\/p>\n
We got to USD with our robot which is new technology for us (Parallax – no snickering) and\u00a0learned that USD allowed one team to enter the contest with (guess what?) a LEGO EV3 which is technology we just experienced working with at the CEENBoT Showcase – LEGO FLL State Tournament. C’est la vie!<\/p>\n
