USD Robotic Competition

Veni, Vidi, Vici at the USD Robotic Competition; Well Almost!

We prepared for the robot competition hosted by USD.edu in Vermillion, SD with minimalistic instructions. We knew there would be a maze and we would have to build and program a robot for autonomous behavior in the undefined maze. We gave this challenge a go as best we could under the circumstances.

On the big day, we woke before dawn to make the long trip to Vermillion. A plus is that we will be a relatively short drive to Yankton where we may find Gavin’s Dam which we plan to tour later this summer.

We got to USD with our robot which is new technology for us (Parallax – no snickering) and learned that USD allowed one team to enter the contest with (guess what?) a LEGO EV3 which is technology we just experienced working with at the CEENBoT Showcase – LEGO FLL State Tournament. C’est la vie!
