Academy Science is grateful to the National Center for Women & Information Technology!
We have a National Aspirations Award Winner this year! The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing – Revolutionizing the Face of Technology award honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests.
Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. Recipients receive opportunities for scholarships, internships, research experiences, and other educational and employment opportunities provided by NCWIT member organizations.
Academy Science has a teacher who is an Aspirations Award winner. This award identifies outstanding educators who play a pivotal role in helping to encourage the young women to continue exploring their interest in computing and technology. The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Educator Award recognizes educators for their efforts to promote gender equity in computing. The awardees are selected from the educators who are engaged in endorsing Aspirations award applications.
We are members of the Computer Science Teacher’s Association CSTA and the International Society for Technology Education ISTE.
We are seeking young women with interests in science, computing, engineering and information technology! Michael Hanus
