What do a dozen computer science teachers do on a Tuesday evening in Nebraska?
They meet at Parker’s Smokehouse and swap stories about computer science of course!
Nebraska Education Technology Association NETA has a big meet coming up in the spring. Some of our finest Computer Science Engineering Education teachers are making presentations at the NETA spring conference.
Computer Science is gaining traction in the classroom. Computer Science Teacher Association CSTA has established national standards in formulating and evaluating computer science programs in the classroom. There is great opportunity for directed and consistent application of computer science engineering education across the country now that standards are identified and ready for adoption.
This is an exciting opportunity presence for youth to address computer science. There are solid valid metrics that more computer science engineering application career fields are opening and will continue to open over the next decade and beyond. These jobs must be filled by skillful education trained workers that will be in high demand because of an existing shortage of skilled workers that is expected to continue into the future. This represents a great employment opportunity forecast where demand for trained workers exceeds the qualified supply!
Our youth should want to “engineer” this opportunity to jump start and supercharge their imaginations! Computers, Robots, Rockets, Engineering, Whoo-Hoo! Let’s go!
Naturally so this is “plug time” for your local science club. Hurry on down and get ye enrolled and participating with mucho gusto interest in computer engineering and related sciences! The journey is the reward!
