Someone is always watching … Grandpa says this. Guess who is “4-H Club of the Year?”
The Awards Moderator’s introduction for Academy Science Club, 4-H Club of the Year:
Academy 4-H Club lives the 4-H Pledge and 4-H Motto all year round!
We are a club that is always accepting visitors and new members.
We serve the community all year round through community projects and club demonstrations.
This last year our club wrote and published a booklet to assist seniors and other interested people who want to know more about using computers. We call this booklet: “Download, Copy, Paste.” Do you know that seniors need to know where to find computer resources and use computers to access government services like Social Security, Medicare and other forms and information? We partnered with the ENOA, Senior Assisted Living Centers and the Library to assist seniors with computer use.
When we are not assisting and demonstrating to the community, we are busy with robotics, computer programming, planes, rockets, weather, poultry, and other science topics.
We compete in the Douglas – Sarpy Fair, First Lego League, CEENBoT Showcase and River City Rodeo Robotics. We attend 4-H camp and we also have a Lego FLL preparation camp that we organize!
We enjoy getting to know other people and sharing ideas!
We have FUN!
Thank you for recognizing our club for this special award!
